5 Positive Thinking Tips

Sometimes we cannot help thinking negative thoughts, but most people are chronic negative thinkers. Constantly thinking like this can actually prevent you from achieving your goals and living a happy, contented life.

The following tips can help anyone get into the habit of positive thinking:

1. Practice Healthy Living
The right amount of sleep, a balanced diet and daily exercise is the first step towards positive thinking as this allows your mind to function at its best.

2. Learn to be Grateful for what you have
The second thing you need to do is to be thankful for what you have. Life is not so bad when you think about all the things around you that most people wish they had. A good family, a place to live in a nice neighbourhood, food on the table, a job and good friends. Just take a little time and look around you and appreciate all that you have.

3. Don't Assume
You know a lot of us go through life just assuming the worst about themselves and others, and this is not a good practice. We feel we know what other people are thinking about us and it's usually in the negative. All this makes us feel down and we lose focus on what we have to do. If you feel this way at times the best thing to do is ask. If your spouse is in a bad mood, don't assume that it is your fault, just ask. Don't assume that your co-workers are gossiping about you because they suddenly got quiet as you entered the room. Simply ask them "are you talking about me?" You might be pleasantly surprised at the answer. All in all, don't assume something is your fault until you can find out if it really is.

4. Choose your Words Carefully
"You never"; "I can't"; "He's always late." When you constantly use phrases like these you actually tell yourself that nothing can ever be done right. Instead use positive words like "I can", "you must", "he should".

5. Let go of your negative thoughts
From the time a negative thought enters your mind, release it immediately. Instantly replace it with something positive and enlightening.

The goal to living a productive, happy, confident life is to practice positive thinking.

10 Tips for Positive Thinking - Tips for a Happier and Healthier Frame of Mind

If you’re down in the dumps for disproportionately long periods of time and you find yourself blaming the rest of the world for your misery, then perhaps a change of attitude is in order. These 10 tips for positive thinking may be able to give your outlook in life its much needed overhaul. So increase your chances for a more constructive perspective with these 10 tips for positive thinking:

1. Recognize negative thoughts as they take shape and bury them before they take root. If you feel your mood darkening again, put a stop to these dangerous musings before you succumb to them. Rule your emotions, don’t let your emotions rule you.

2. Hang out with people who think positive as well. This condition can be quite infectious.

3. Just as contagious is a negative mindset. So avoid people who tend to think negatively on a constant basis. After all, who wants to hang around naysayers all the time?

4. Work out and eat right. If you look good on the outside, it’ll be easier to feel good on the inside, too.

5. De-clutter. Surround yourself only with the things you love and that make you feel good—framed family photos, favorite books, potted plants, works of art, or whatever else that’s meaningful to you.

6. If people tell you you can’t do something, take that as a challenge and prove them wrong. Chances are, they themselves can’t do it or are too afraid to try and are simply bitter about it. If you show them it can be done after all, maybe they’ll even be inspired by your success. You can be a living tip for positive thinking to them.

7. Just when you’re about to blow your top for all the seeming misfortunes that befall you, remind yourself of all your blessings instead. This practice can be very sobering, indeed.

8. Be a volunteer or get involved in charity work. Not only will you realize the sheer number of people who have bigger problems than you do, but there is also such an emotional and even spiritual high to be experienced in helping others.

9. De-stress. You’re more likely to be cranky if you’re perpetually stressed out. So get away from it all and recharge.

10. Keep it up. Getting started is easy. It’s the maintenance that’s tricky. Make a habit out of thinking positively till it becomes an indelible part of who you are.

Follow these 10 tips for positive thinking and be successful in your search for a happier and healthier frame of mind.

HOW ONE CAN MAKE A LITTLE ROLE SO IMPORTANT

A top business leader who made waves in the Information Technology industry was on a business trip to Tokyo. He was always very humble and shared all his success with his employees. After all his meetings, he went to a shopping mall to buy chocolates and gifts to his employees back in his country.

As he entered the mall a little lady gave a warm smile and welcomed him, he was very touched, felt good, and was not able to forget the warmth in her smile. He was noticing her as he was shopping; she was giving the same smile to all the customers who walked into the mall.

The business leader started wondering if she was every fed up doing the same thing again and again, he walked up to her and asked, "My dear lady, are you not tried of doing this job, and how long have you been doing this?"

The lady smiled and said, " No sir, I am working here from the last 10 years and I like my job."

The business leader was shocked and asked, " Why you have been doing this for 10 years, and why do you like your job?"

The lady smiled again and said, " Sir, because I am serving my country."

This was a little amusing for the business leader. He said," You are serving your country by smiling?"

The little lady said, "Yes sir, I smile and all the customers coming to the mall fell happy and relaxed. They shop more, my boss is happy, and pays me more. Since I am paid more, I can take care of my family. Since I can take care if my family, they are happy. As all the customers buy from us, the demand for goods is more and since the demand is more, there are many factories. Since there are many factories there are many jobs. Since there are jobs, people in the country are happy.

As most of our customers are foreigners, there is foreign exchange. Since there is foreign exchange, our country has lot of money and is richer every day. And people like you who are happy with our service visit our country more often and some time you will tell your family and friends too. My country gets more visitors, more money, more jobs and has more happy people. That's how I serve my country."

Amazed with her attitude, the business leader thanked her and came back to his country. He worked hard to incorporate the same attitude among his employees, and today his company is one of the best companies in the world.

Read once a week

This is something we should all read at least once a week.

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The
Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio.

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45
lessons lifetaught me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written. My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good. 2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3.
Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.

5. Pay off your
credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9.
Save for retirement starting with your first pay check.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

15. Everything can change in
the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then
go with the flow.

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive everyone everything.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood.

38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

42. The best is yet to come.

43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

Its estimated 93% won't forward this. If you are one of the 7% who will, forward this with the title '7%'. I'm in the 7%. Remember that I will always share my spoon with you!

Time to enjoy

You've put a lot of time and effort into getting where you are. Take some time to truly enjoy it, right here and right now.

What is the point in struggling and striving for more, if you do not enjoy what you already have? Why put your effort into getting further ahead, if you cannot enjoy where you already are?

Take some time to simply enjoy. No matter where you may be, there is always a way to truly enjoy the incredible blessing of life.

And the more you enjoy that blessing, the more it grows. The more you truly enjoy what you have, the more there will be to enjoy.

It makes no sense to postpone your enjoyment until some imagined time in the future when conditions will be ideal. For if you cannot find enjoyment where you are, that ideal time will never come.

Take time, on a regular basis, to truly enjoy, even if there are no reasons. For when you do, there will soon be plenty of reasons.
